About Me

My name is Ralph A. Long III, and I proudly call Atlanta, Georgia, my home. As a dedicated husband to Erica Long for over 20 years and a proud father to our son, Ralph Long IV, who is now 17, my life is deeply rooted in family, community, and a passion for creativity and service.

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A) in Interior Design from The Art Institute of Atlanta, which laid the foundation for my journey in the fields of interior design, real estate, and public service. Over the years, I have cultivated a diverse career that merges my creative talents with my commitment to serving the people and businesses of Georgia.

Professional Background

Currently, I am the Broker/Owner of The District Realty, LLC, a real estate brokerage and property management company based in Georgia. Since 2006, I’ve been representing buyers, sellers, and landlords in real estate transactions and managing a portfolio of over 30 properties. My responsibilities include tenant screenings, court actions, supervising contractors, and ensuring the maintenance and financial health of client properties.

Beyond real estate, I’ve worked on design-focused projects such as my role as Project Designer at Contract Business Interiors, where I specialized in space planning, furniture solutions, and creating detailed client presentations. Previously, as Architectural Designer, Senior for the City of Atlanta’s Department of Enterprise Assets Management, I led large-scale redesigns of office spaces, including the Atlanta Public Safety Headquarters. These experiences have honed my skills in design, project management, and creative problem-solving.

Public Service and Community Involvement

My career extends into public service, where I represented the 61st House District in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2009 to 2013. During my tenure, I championed public education, transportation, and environmental issues, authored key legislative proposals, and engaged with my constituents to address their concerns. Additionally, I served as a Communications/Outreach Specialist with the Georgia Department of Driver Services, educating and guiding the trucking industry on federal compliance standards.

Community service remains an essential part of my life. I am actively involved in the NPU-X and Sylvan Hills Neighborhood Association, where I’ve served in leadership roles, and I am a committed member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, having been elected to the Vestry. These roles allow me to connect with and contribute to the vibrant communities that make Atlanta such a special place.
